In an article by William Park, he brings up the notion that it is hard to determine what cheating actually constitutes in a relationship. The article goes on to explain that everyone has their own view of what cheating actually means and what they expect their partners to do and not to do. However, there were two statistics that I found very alarming in this article. The first statistic is, “75% of men and 68% of women admitted to cheating in same way during some point in a relationship.” The other statistic is, “only 5% of people believe that their own partner had cheated or will cheat at some point during the relationship.” I chose to write about this article because I believe the knowledge I have learned so far in my parenting and technology class can explain these two statistics. I believe these statistics are so high in modern romance because we now have all the increased romantic options due to technology. We now have increased privacy, temptation, and access to cheating while an example would be the app called Ashley Madison, which is primarily used for spouses to cheat on each other without being caught. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20190625-why-we-need-to-talk-about-cheating
