In this article, the author explains that this Coronavirus pandemic has started a new popular trend of quarantine and chill. Most people know the term of “Netflix and chill”, which essentially means hanging out and hooking up. Now, quarantine and chill is pretty much the same exact thing, you are just stuck inside with the person you are “chilling” with. According to this article, the trend began in New York due to New York being one of the worst places in the country for this virus in which the state has completely shut down. This forced single people to get creative and to find new ways to keep them sane during this pandemic. People have been updating their online dating profiles in where they are seeking a partner to quarantine and chill with to kill some time during this pandemic. This article relates to my Parenting and Technology class because of how often we have discussed online dating. This form of online dating has evolved even more, which shows how modern romance is slowly turning into hook up culture.
